Project Proposal
For this project, I will be doing an art piece with some collage and drawings using watercolour and/or acrylic. I might tape certain things. I have actually never created something on a theme about identity before so it is nice to explore something new. My working title is “A little bit about myself” or “My identity” I’m not sure yet.
For this final project, we have chosen the theme of identity. At first, I was struggling a bit with what I could do. I did not have too much inspiration but then, something came to my mind. Our five senses are a big part of our identity since they allow us to smell, to touch, to see, to hear and taste. Which is why, I’m going to represent all of those things through drawings and possibly collages. I’m going to represent what makes me who I am through those five senses. This piece is going to be about myself. For "Seeing", I want to show certain places that I identify to. For "Smell", I want to draw a vanilla flower or maybe stick a bottle or picture of my perfume on the paper. For "Touch", I want to draw two hands holding each other or two people hugging. For "Hearing", I want to draw my guitar and show an album that I enjoy. Finally, for "Taste", I want to draw a religieuse au chocolat . I will draw all of that as well as writing down a personal story that goes with each sense. There are memories attached to each of those senses that I relate to personally which is why they make me who I am. Also, I want to open myself up to people and make some connections with others. They might enjoy some of the things I enjoy as well, they might identify to me too in the end.
